One of the first things you might wonder before booking portraits is, “Will I know what to do?”

You don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose. At WTL Photography Studio in Port St. Lucie, we’ll guide you through your session, from getting comfortable in front of the camera to making small adjustments that help a portrait come together.

Here’s how the experience begins.

First, we talk about you

Your session starts with a conversation. What are you celebrating? Where will you use your photographs? Is there a particular look you’re drawn to?

A professional headshot, a graduation portrait, and a birthday session each have a different purpose. Understanding yours helps us plan the setting, lighting, and overall direction.

Our free consultation is also your opportunity to ask questions and decide which service fits what you have in mind.

We plan the details together

Before your session, we’ll discuss the outfits, setting, and any meaningful items you’d like to include. The number of outfits and locations will depend on your selected collection.

If you have inspiration photographs, share them with us. They help us understand what catches your eye—whether that’s a dramatic background, softer lighting, or a relaxed outdoor setting. We’ll use that conversation to develop a direction that feels personal to you.

For a milestone session, a graduation cap, an instrument, or something connected to your interests can give your portraits more meaning.

You’ll have guidance during the session

Once we begin, we’ll help with where to stand, what to do with your hands, and where to look. Sometimes a small change in posture or the angle of your face makes a noticeable difference.

We’ll also adjust the lighting for you and the look we’re creating. That attention is part of the session—you don’t need to have it figured out beforehand.

If something feels uncomfortable, tell us. Communication helps us work together throughout the shoot.

Your photographs receive attention afterward

After the session, we prepare your proof gallery so you can review the photographs and select your favorites according to your collection.

For portrait sessions, proofs are generally ready within 10–14 business days. Final retouching typically takes approximately 7 business days after you submit your selections. We’ll explain the delivery details for your booking so you know what to expect.

Let’s talk about your session

Whether you’re updating your professional image or celebrating a personal milestone, we’d love to hear what you’re planning.
